About the event
On the 19th January 2022, I will be collaborating with Kelly Kennedy (April Rise Studios) and Marc Dingle (YourYoga) to create a special one-day retreat to be held at Saint Nectan’s Glen in Cornwall.
A retreat where the practice of gentle yoga asana will be seamlessly combined with meditation and sound healing - the creation of a space where you’ll explore and experience the softness and tranquillity of yourself.
Drawing upon the approaching energies of the ancient fire festival of Imbolc, the experience of this special day is aligned with this powerful time of year when all things feel possible. Known as the ‘Feast of Torches’, where candles and lamps would be lit to reflect the returning light of the Sun from the dark months of winter, we will seek to share the emergence of our own inner light in this safe and ancient space.
Taking place at Saint Nectan’s Glen, one of the most sacred sites in England, we invite you to join us as we move consciously, breathe mindfully and experience the extraordinary talents of two experienced practitioners in holistic health and holding space for others and one of Europe’s leading hatha yoga and meditation teachers.
This experience is your opportunity to connect and reflect on your personal experience as this most potent and potential time of year.
Kelly started her journey with holistic health 20 years ago when she trained in holistic and swedish massage and qualified in 2003.
After working in hotels and spas she realised her skill was to provide time and space for people to heal, so she set out on her own and created April Rise Studio.
In 2015 she started training in Reiki and now is a Reiki Master, working with subtle spiritual and physical energy.
In 2020 she trained with Kyle Gray in reading Angel cards and is now part of his Angel Team.
Kelly is currently learning crystal energy healing as part of her continual development.
Because of her fascination with all things spiritual, she is continually learning about various spiritual practises to deepen her knowledge.
The love of sound therapy started 8 years ago and she has recently finished level 1 Integral Sound Healing training, to continue with level 2 this year.
Within this day retreat Kelly will help to create sacred space for people to really connect within themselves and find some calm and peace.
Matt has been teaching hatha and restorative yoga for over six years and yogic meditation and mindfulness techniques for five. Through these years, the physical and mental practises of yoga have been his constant companion.
Matt is passionate that the practice of yoga should not be complicated - that it is a practice of simplicity, honesty and of self-realisation and understanding. Yoga is available to everyone, regardless of flexibility or physical strength, and that even the simplest of movements contain benefits for our bodies and minds.
With a lifelong practice rooted in traditional earth magic and druidism, Matt is a fully qualified practitioner of reflexology, crystal and colour therapy, Matt perceives the golden thread of relaxation for optimum health and wellbeing that runs through all holistic healing practises.
During this retreat, Matt will share his knowledge and experience of yoga and meditation combined with his deep understanding of spirituality and philosophy from different traditions; guiding you to discover the pure, blissful state of awareness and light that is your birthright.
Marc has a passion for yoga, sound healing and cooking in equal measures.
At the head of a thriving business spanning restaurants and cafes for over 20 years, within this fast-paced world of hospitality and his own dedicated yoga practice, he found a deeper yogic calling in 2018 upon completion of his teacher training on the beautiful island of Mallorca.
Teaching regularly, his classes and teachings have been guided towards the more restorative aspect of asana through yin yoga, yoga nidra and sound healing.
Marc regularly uses Tibetan singing bowls and crystal singing bowls in his teaching practice and is honoured to connect with people on this level; he has a fundamental understanding of the power of sound to help us reduce stress, create a deep sense of well-being and to promote our own healing.
